I strive to create a visual language; I make objects as evocative symbols, complete each unto itself, not a series of signs. Although I have little patience for the preciousness of the thing itself, I am an advocate for its space: Read its parts but feel it as a whole. The play of light, movement, and sound-the phenomenological aspect-is essential to how these works should be understood.
